About Joe Wilkins
Mr. Wilkins currently serves as a Partner for TRG Healthcare. TRG is a specialized healthcare consulting firm offering focused services differentiated by our unique knowledge and expertise. Joe is also a limited partner within the Venture Investment industry, deploying Networked Capital to early stage rapid growth technology companies. He is also associated with expertise and key resources to partner with leading corporations to bench-mark and co-manage Corporate Venture Capital Programs. Joe is Co-Chair of Foresight – Designing a Future for Health. Leading efforts to equitably envision and bring about a bold new future for health and well-being for all within the United States. In addition, Joe is a Board Member for Medliminal and Public Health Advocates. He is also an advisor to SymphonyRM and Co Chair of BDHEA focused on informing and resolving Healthcare Disparities, Equity and Social Justice challenges.
Joe served as Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer for Atlantic Health System, he sponsored a $350 M investment in Electronic Medical Record implementation project for 5 hospitals and all medical groups. He and his teams built a Clinical and Business Analytics Intelligence Infrastructure along with Data Governance policies and oversight. Joe innovated Digital Online Consumer Access tools, Created Online Physician Profiles, enabled Online Scheduling and Tele-medicine capabilities. Joe also helped launch the Clinical Integrated Network and he instituted the Atlantic Health Advancement, Innovation Center called Aha! while funding investments within Aha! Ventures investment portfolio program.
Prior to Atlantic Health System, as Executive Director he led the commercial operations teams at Quest Diagnostics, a $9B provider of diagnostic clinical testing. He informed new business models, strengthen health system relationships and employed new models of diagnostics technology and innovation to help empower better health with actionable diagnostic data and insights. Joe’s teams delivered more than $100M in revenue growth, redefined business development processes and M&A activities resulting in several key acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
Before Quest Diagnostics, Mr. Wilkins dedicated 28-years of his career as an executive at Danaher Corporation, a global life sciences and healthcare conglomerate. Joe is considered one of the great executive leader within its history in leading commercial operations excellence within his sales, service and marketing teams.
Mr. Wilkins has a long history of balancing his business endeavors with community service towards healthcare organizations and professional associations. Mr. Wilkins served as Board Chair for Providence - St Joseph Hoag Health. He also served as Board Chair for the California Hospital Association, Governance Forum, and the State of California’s Governor’s Office of Health Equity Advisory Committee. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the Institute of Diversity and Health Equity. Mr Wilkins consults with and advises start ups and early stage companies empowered by JW Healthcare Insights management models for success.
Mr. Wilkins is Board Certified in Healthcare Management as an American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow. He earned his MBA in Finance from Argosy University. He is certified in Population Health Management by the California Hospital Association. He holds a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt from California State Fullerton and corporate governance certifications from the University of Southern California and the University of California, Irvine.
